The Evolution of Simply Shredded

In February of 2009 I gave my ‘tribe members’ a little gift in the form of a four week kick-ass training program called Simply Shredded 28-Day Challenge.  Many of you probably took that challenge.  The premise was to create a workout program that would produce results with no workout taking longer than 25-minutes.  Most of the workouts you can get through in 15-20 minutes. 

For many of my fitness clients and my competitive athletes, a major hurdle is TIME.  So I set out to remove this barrier in a few ways:

  • Provide workouts that could be completed at home with minimal equipment saving your 20-40 minutes of travel time
  • Cut out the mind numbing “fat burning zone” steady state cardio – more about this later, but trust me, unless this is the first time you have been off the sofa since the Leafs won the Stanley Cup, then forget about this concept. 
  • Take a double barreled approach by training at high intensity – giving a cardiovascular training effect while also building some muscle mass.  The end result – burning huge calories while building calorie burning muscle tissue.

The end result was a highly successful program that people still email me about.  So welcome to the evolution of the Simply Shredded franchise, what I have called the Tribe of Fitness.  This will be the foundation of the program that will grow to include a Tribe of Athletes and a Tribe of Hockey as the next progressions.
