Which Frog are You?

frog_2Hope you had an awesome Christmas or holiday season with your family!  Ours was very nice.  Now we are on the cusp of not only a new year, but also a new decade and I am guessing that some of you are starting to ponder your goals.  I am not going to go through any elabourate goal setting exercises with you…enough other folks are doing that.

What I am going to do is give you an illustration to show the difference between people who achieve goals and those who do not, but first a quick question:  If there are five frogs sitting on a lilypad (okay it is a big lilypad) and one decides to jump off an go for a swim; how many frogs are sitting on the lilypad now?  Did you say FOUR?  You would be wrong!

There are still FIVE!  I said the frog decided she was going to jump in and go for a swim; I didn’t say that she actually DID jump off and go for a swim.  Do you get the point?  Deciding that you are going to do something is completely worthless – maybe you will decide that you really must start taking your lunch to work everyday, or maybe you decide to workout four days per week, maybe you decide to watch less TV.  Will any of these decisions make you healthier, happier or wealthier?  Nope!  It is not until you let your actions speak louder than your words that there is any impact.

So I don’t care what you decide, I only care about what you do!  Give that a thought when you plot your goals for the next 3, 6 and 12 months.  Thought provoking isn’t it?
Cheers,

Maria
