Happy New Year! I hope you had a great Christmas season where ever you were. Today I wanted to let you know how I did on my goals for 2010 and what I have in store for 2011 – http://urbanfitnesscoach.com/wordpress/2011/01/03/achieve-your-goals-in-2011/ (you may need to cut and paste this URL into your browser).
Pimp your gym workout – here’s how!
I had a nice visit with one of my oldest friends last week and we were chatting about his current fitness routine and his fitness goals. It was apparent that I needed to “Pimp his workout”! We grew up next door to one another and we would go running at 7am around the neighbourhood when we were probably 12 years old. He had a York barbell set in his basement (the iron plates, not the cement ones I had) and he had a bench! Wow! We had a great time lifting those weights, playing tackle football and re-enacting some pretty epic war battles in that basement.
Don’t even get me started about the time I bought him a gerbil for Christmas which then went on to deliver a couple gerbil babies a few days later…I was not overly popular with his Mom for a while – oops!
Anyway, here is the workout I put together for my friend and a video showing you what I mean:
Would more speed help your athletes succeed?
I am happy to team up with The University of Western Ontario’s campus recreation department to present this two hour workshop for coaches who think they will win more games if they learn the simple secrets to making their players faster and more agile. This type of training can also help reduce the risk of injuries to their athletes – including those dreaded ACL injuries.
Catching Up – the summer that was at Revolution Conditioning
Today I want to give you an update on the summer here are Revolution Conditioning – and then we will look ahead to the fall season. Finally, I want to share a new toy with you – maybe something you have never seen before! But first let’s start by explaining how these kids in Ghana (shown in the photo on the left) came to be wearing a Revolution Conditioning t-shirt.
